White Project

Client Goals

Here’s a quick recap of the goals we discussed for your space — what you want it to feel like, how you plan to use it, and the overall vibe we’re aiming for. Take a moment to review and let me know if there’s anything you’d like to add or adjust!

Mood Board

Think of it as the “vibe preview” — it helps you see how everything will come together before any purchasing or installation happens. This is where we align on direction, mood, and style to make sure the design feels intentional, cohesive, and true to you.

Once approved, the mood board guides all sourcing and design decisions moving forward.

Living Room Design Rationale

For this space, the goal is to create something that feels elevated, warm, and intentionally layered — without overwhelming the architecture that already makes your living room special.

We’ll be introducing a lighter-toned sofa to keep the room feeling open and airy, especially considering your ceiling height. A softer foundation allows the space to breathe while giving us room to layer in richer accent colors. From there, we’ll build depth with plum and deeper greens throughout the room — primarily through pillows, textiles, and accent seating. These tones add mood and sophistication while still blending beautifully with the surrounding spaces in your home.

Pattern will be thoughtfully introduced in a way that complements your existing curtains rather than competing with them. The goal is cohesion — subtle movement and texture that feels intentional and connected.

Because of the vertical scale of your fireplace wall and ceiling height, we’ll incorporate larger decorative elements (such as substantial vases and sculptural pieces) around the fireplace. This helps anchor the wall visually and ensures the styling doesn’t feel too small or lost in the space.

The artwork you already own will remain the focal point above the fireplace. It carries presence and personality, and by allowing it to stay center stage, we’re designing around something meaningful to you while enhancing its impact with surrounding layers.

Overall, this direction balances softness and drama — light foundations with rich, grounded accents — creating a living room that feels curated, cohesive, and reflective of you.

Material Palette

Here’s a collection of colors, fabrics, finishes, and textures for your project. This helps set the tone and visual foundation for everything.

This material board builds on the foundation of your space while adding richness, depth, and intentional layering.

We’re introducing plum and deeper green tones to create warmth and dimension. The plum adds a grounded elegance, while the green brings a subtle earthiness that keeps the space feeling balanced rather than heavy. Together, they create contrast against the lighter foundational pieces and help the room feel curated and refined.

You’ll also notice the introduction of marble. Whether incorporated through a coffee table or side tables, marble brings a timeless quality and subtle movement through its veining. It adds sophistication without overpowering the room and pairs beautifully with the deeper color tones we’re introducing.

Texture will play a major role in this space. We’re layering tactile elements through accent pillows, upholstery, and the area rug to create softness and depth. You’ll see woven fabrics, subtle patterns, and plush finishes that give the room dimension while still feeling cohesive. The rug will help anchor the seating area while adding another layer of warmth underfoot.

We are also maintaining a bronze or warm gold metal story throughout. These finishes will show up in lighting, hardware, or accent décor, tying into other areas of your home and creating continuity. The warmth of these metals complements the plum, green, and brown tones beautifully.

You’ll see grounding elements like your existing warm wood slats and rich brown finishes woven into the board as well. These bring structure and contrast, helping balance the softness of the textiles. The introduction of creamy neutrals will be present to ensure the room still feels open and light, especially with your ceiling height.

Overall, this palette blends creamy softness with rich, moody depth — layered textures, warm metals, natural stone, and grounded wood tones — creating a living room that feels elevated, cohesive, and thoughtfully composed.

Initial Selections

These pieces are initial selections to help us begin shaping the overall direction of your space. You’ll see a range of sofas, chairs, and coffee tables that explore different silhouettes, proportions, and subtle color variations.

As you review, focus less on whether something feels “perfect” and more on what stands out to you.

  • Do you prefer softer, curved shapes or cleaner, structured lines?

  • Are you drawn to lighter tones, deeper hues, or something in between?

  • What feels comfortable and aligned with how you want the room to function?

  • Is there anything that immediately feels like a no?

This phase is about understanding your preferences and refining our direction before we move into more finalized sourcing. Your feedback here will guide the next round of selections and help ensure we’re creating a space that truly reflects you.

Concept

The design concept is the overall vision and creative direction for your space. This goes beyond individual pieces and focuses on how everything works together — colors, textures, materials, finishes, and styling details.

It tells the story of the room and sets the tone for how the space will feel once completed. The concept guides all design decisions moving forward, ensuring the final space feels cohesive, intentional, and aligned with your style.
