Project: Midnight Muse

Midnight Muse is a powder room designed to feel like a moment—an intimate, moody retreat where rich color, layered textures, and thoughtful details come together to create an atmosphere that inspires. The design embraces bold expression while remaining refined, transforming an often-overlooked space into an unforgettable experience. Though dramatic in its own right, it remains beautifully connected to the surrounding areas in the home, proving that even the smallest rooms can leave the biggest impression.

This mood board brings the Midnight Muse vision to life through deep navy, warm wood tones, expressive artwork, bold pattern, and sculptural lighting. Brass accents and clean-lined pieces add a more elevated, polished feel, while still allowing the room to have plenty of personality. Together, these elements create a powder room that feels moody, grown, artistic, and intentional.

Concept

Concept — Design Rationale

Both of these concepts take the Midnight Muse direction in a slightly softer, more art-forward direction than the previous designs. By changing to the lighter, graphic wallpaper, we’re bringing more contrast into the room, allowing the deep navy wainscoting and trim to still give us that moody, grown feeling without the entire space feeling quite as dark.

Option One pairs the elongated mirror with sconces on either side, which draws the eye upward and gives the vanity wall a taller, more dramatic presence. Option Two introduces a large round mirror with a three-globe vanity light above, creating a softer shape and a slightly more modern, playful feel. Both keep the space bold and elevated, but give you two different ways to experience the lighting and overall balance of the vanity wall.
